Biography

Orna was born in Barcelona in 1976. He can remember having felt the necessity of transcending much before looking this word up in a dictionary.

He started studying drums at sixteen. As a drummer he was part of a few rock bands and performed in several concerts. He also joined the magic world of percussion and musical improvisation.

Once he finished his studies in Sound and Motion Picture Engineering, in 2000 he set out on a journey to several countries in the Far East. His body's return trip was fast. By plane. He carried with him a nice handful of let's-say-great and intimate experiences to assimilate, a diary, several hours of field sound recordings, a tabla (indian percussion), the first lessons on how to play it and a used toothbrush.

He worked as a sound engineer in the phonographic department of the Catalonia Library. He took new lessons on tabla and percussion in Barcelona. He joined the bossanova band Ouvindo.

In 2003, already established in the Pla de l'Estany shire he started composing songs. He began chant and musical language studies. He took courses in the Barcelona "Taller de Músics" and in the Banyoles "Taller de Música" among other schools.

He has studied about music and consciousness in the Societat d'Etnopsicologia Aplicada i Estudis Cognitius in Barcelona.

As a percussionist, he has collaborated with Maria Laffite and Joel Olivé.

Professionally, he has had experience, among other occupations, as a pastry distributor, apple picker, officer, electric installer, sound engineer in live acts and in ancient music recordings restoring, as a waiter, aerial photographer and zeppelin guard. He has given percussion classes. He has been working as a high-school teacher for five years

In 2006 he published his first demo, "The time it took", and began to perform his songs live, the most of the times with Joan Miró as a collaborator.
